Shelly Young, CAI-II

KEYNOTE SPEAKER : Creating an Environment That Supports Recovery

Founder of The Family Recovery Conference, Shelly is passionate about family recovery and creating recovery ready communities.  Throughout her family recovery journey her faith was in the power of love, deep connection, actionable solutions and a fierce devotion to breaking the generational curse of addiction in her family. She kept her sights on peace within herself and the family, exploring every path and being guided by those in long term recovery, professionals, treatment providers, clinicians, practitioners, healers, researchers and scientists.

It is her dream to help as many families as she can find peace and the healing path of recovery by amplifying the voices of recovery.  Drawing on her on own experience as a daughter of a recovering family member and mother of a young person in recovery whose recovery journey inspired her own personal recovery, she uses her experiences and education, the wisdom of the journey, and The Path of Devotion to guide families from the chaotic waters of active addiction to the peaceful flow of love, harmony and wellness.

Mom to three enchanting souls and one big black lab, when she’s not out championing recovery, you can find her with her face in a book learning something new, dancing in the kitchen cooking for her family, on a yoga mat at her favorite yoga studio, traveling to warm places by the water or just being with the people she loves.
